24 December
2 Sam 7:1-5,8-12,14,16
Lk 1:67-79
“…you will go before the Lord to prepare the way for him… to give light to those who live in darkness and the shadow of death.”
Tomorrow, we celebrate Christmas Day, the day when our Saviour is born.
So today, we anticipate the joyous day by preparing our souls to welcome baby Jesus into our hearts. Some of us may be attending Midnight Mass, others may gather with loved ones, while some may be celebrating Christmas abroad.
Yet, amidst all these celebrations, there remains darkness in today’s world. The conflicts in Russia and the Middle East persist, poverty continues to afflict many nations, and some people may find themselves without loved ones to share in the Christmas celebration.
And while the wars may seem distant, poverty and loneliness may actually be much closer to home. Perhaps you have noticed a parishioner attending Mass alone with no family nor friends; or a disabled person begging in public.
In these moments, we may have felt a stirring in our hearts to do something for the marginalised community in our society. Could we extend a helping hand, a listening ear, or a warm welcome? This Christmas, let us share with everyone the light of Christ, the joy of giving, and the warmth of our unique ‘kampung spirit’.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, please help us to share Your light and joy to the marginalised communities in our society. Amen.
Thanksgiving: Thank you Lord, for calling us to share Your light and joy to the downtrodden people this Christmas. Amen.
